Christian and Dayton met as students at Texas State, serving as student leaders. During their time in Chi Alpha, they developed a big heart for campus missions and felt led to complete a one-year CMIT to learn more about serving as US missionaries. After their internship, they moved back to San Marcos, where they serve full time with Texas State Chi Alpha!
Their heart is for Texas State to know the love of Jesus and what it means to follow Jesus in this stage of life and the next. Christian focuses on discipling the guys within Chi Alpha and creating ways for fellowship to grow among the group. Dayton focuses on empowering the girls within Chi Alpha as they step into their God-given identity and social media outreach. Together, they equip students to invite, welcome, and get connected with others through serving, small groups and weekly gatherings.

Students that come through university are the next generation of teachers, politicians, doctors, and parents. Chi Alpha is a place of sweet community but also a training ground for students to learn what it means to be a disciple of Jesus wherever they go. As we partner with God to transform the university, we will ultimately transform the world with the truth of the gospel. There is also an amazing opportunity to pour out the love and truth of Jesus to international students as they take their experience here back to their families and friends of their home country.

Ailed
Ailed came to Chi Alpha seeking community. She has become a pod leader, learning to disciple her peers. She currently serves as our student president, with roles such as scheduling us for campus outreach and event planning. After going on mission trips and seeking counsel, she is praying about missions, whether that is local or worldwide!

Mohit
Mohit came to Chi Alpha seeking friendship after meeting us during a campus outreach event. Even though his beliefs differ, he saw the love within the community and wanted to learn more. After attending a few small groups, he told Christian that the way people were loving and treating him proved it must be Jesus shining through them, and for that he was grateful and eager to learn more about what it means to follow Jesus.

Sarah Bell
Sarah Bell came to Chi Alpha seeking friendship. She met some of her closest friends, and through discipleship and community, she learned the depth of God’s love and that the Holy Spirit desires to move in and through her. After graduation, she went off to law school, and there she was able to put her faith into practice by being a light to those around her in a place ridden with competition and difficult decisions.
Share our ministry with others so that when their kids are college age, the parents can rest easy knowing there is a God- centered family waiting for them. We want to give them a God-centered community to continue growing in, so that they walk out their relationship with Christ for the rest of their lives!
Make the decision to partner with us financially. With your partnership, Christian & Dayton can be on campus full-time. Without the financial partnership of our friends, family, churches, and local businesses, we can’t meet freshmen every Fall semester or sit down and help them discover their identity in Christ. Please consider becoming a monthly partner so we can stay on campus throughout every season of the semester!
Pray for souls, transformation and reconciliation on campus. We believe revival is wanting to break loose on our campus, but we need to fight the forces working against it with the best weapon we have; prayer. So many times when we've reached out to my team for prayer over a student; there’s breakthrough!

Frequently Asked Questions
There are principles in the Bible that show ministers of the Gospel should be paid by the Gospel (learn more by reading next question, Is raising support biblical?) . Two categories of people that fall under that are pastors who are paid by the people they serve and missionaries who are supported by others that aren't directly receiving service from them. Chi Alpha workers are missionaries. We get to rally together a team of people who provide prayer and financial support to further the proclamation of the Gospel on campus.
Yes! Paul says, the Lord has commanded that those who proclaim the gospel should get their living by the gospel (1 Cor 9:14). There are several examples of this being practiced in Scripture. Here are some examples:
The whole Levitical system in the Old Testament (the Levites were ministers) is predicated on the financial support of ministers by the rest of God's people (Numbers 18:21–24) is a representative example). See Nehemiah 13:4–11 for how outraged Nehemiah was that the Levites had to go earn wages in another fashion.
Jesus' ministry was funded by some of those who heard Him (Luke 8:1–3) and He taught the disciples to rely on others while ministering (Matthew 10:5–15).
Paul asked the Roman church to financially support Phoebe, one of the ministers at Cenchrae (Romans 16:1–2). Paul himself received support and was grateful for it (Philippians 4:10–20).
What about Paul's tent making days? Paul did not always support himself by making tents. That was the second‐best option for him. See Acts 18:1–5, where Paul began by making tents and quit as soon as he was in a spot financially able to do so. See 1 Corinthians 9:1–18, where Paul's whole point is that the Corinthians owed him support. He concludes the letter by telling them that he hopes to stop by and that he hopes they will provide for him to finish his journey in 1 Cor 16:5–6.
In Romans 15:20–24, Paul asks a church he has never visited before to fund him on his journey to Spain. Paul teaches in Galatians 6:6 that Christians are obligated to provide for the needs of ministers. The apostle John encouraged his friend to support a crew of missionaries in 3 John 5–8.
The church is people! So, by raising support the church is paying us...but really? It's a scalable system for the denomination. Each new missionary is required to raise the funds necessary for their own ministry. We can always produce more missionaries, no matter how many we have because there's no fixed allotment that all the missionaries have to compete for.
Raising support requires that missionaries build a network of relationships which gives access to more resources and more people with different perspectives, skills, and giftings. This allows the Gospel message to go further then it ever could by just the missionary going alone. Many missionaries have become missionaries through being in contact with another missionary. Support‐raising forces missionaries to develop relationships that ultimately result in the production of new missionaries.
All financial supports goes through AG United States Missions and they will send you a receipt.
